Disneyland is of course a “must see” attraction when you stay in Santa Barbara. But there are other classic amusement parks, too. One of them offers some of the most exciting roller coaster rides in the world. Also worth a visit is Universal Studios – go there to experience the magic of Hollywood!
Disneyland
No visit to California is complete without a trip to Disneyland, probably the most famous amusement park in the world. The park is about 2½ hours south of Santa Barbara.
There are literally hundreds of things to do and see, but don't miss the Fantasmic Show and Disney's classic Electrical Parade!
Knott's Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm is another classic Los Angeles amusement park. Like Disneyland, there are lots of rides, attractions, and many other things to do and see.
The park is about 2½ hours south of Santa Barbara – it's actually not far from Disneyland.
Universal Studios
Welcome to Hollywood and the magic of the movies! If you've ever wondered how famous movies were made, take the Studio Tour and find out. There are also many interesting shows and some exciting rides. Definitely worth a visit!
Universal Studios is about 90 minutes southeast of Santa Barbara.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain is possibly the best roller coaster park in the world! If you're looking for the highest, fastest and most exciting roller coasters, this is definitely the place to visit. In addition, there are some other, slower rides.
The park can be reached from Santa Barbara on Interstate 5 in about 90 minutes.
Paragliding
Whether you're experienced or have never tried this before, paragliding in Santa Barbara is great fun and an excellent way to get an aerial view of the city and local environment.
No prior experience is necessary – and there are several companies that can help to arrange things for you. Give it a try!
Skydiving
If you are looking for extreme excitement, why not try skydiving! It's something you will never forget, and the adrenaline rush is unlike anything you've ever experienced before.
If you've not tried skydiving before, take your first jump in tandem with an experienced instructor.
